Graham Legacy (1) It Begins

I stared at the address I hastily scribbled as I arrived. My dog Daxter and I had taken three taxis to get here. My great aunt who was wonderful and my only living relative died last month leaving me all her assets, including this house in a small quaint town in the middle of no where. I was sick of big city life and welcomed the change of scenery. It really was a gorgeous house.

I got a job quickly in business, and power worked practically every day, it was exhausting but very satisfying as I began to earn raises in such a short time.In my spare time, I studied logic, handiness, and cooking. I mastered logic within my first week here. But it was definitely lonely, and too quiet.

As many promotions as I was getting, I could not keep up with the bills. I decided I needed a roommate, atleast until I got back on my feet.  My new roommate arrived, her name was Alani. She and I got along very well for the most part. The only thing she does annoying is leave messes in the kitchen.

For the most part, it was pretty much the same as when it was just me. Work and then studying in the evenings. Alani was about as quiet as me at home.

One day I met with my boss for drinks. (she is like one of my bffs since moving here) I thanked her for my most recent promotion. She grew serious and stated that although she loved me, the higher ups were going to make me work harder for my next promotion. She joked that I could always marry rich and quit my job.

Me and her both laughed as we threw back out martinis. She and I both knew full well that I wasn't the type to just stay at home. I liked having goals, achievements, and coworkers in my life. But I did like the idea of a man in my life. Of course, I didn't care if he was rich or not. I just wanted to meet someone!

The next day my oven caught on fire. Apparently, Alani had left food in the oven and it on when she went to work?! Who does that? I called the firefighters and did the only thing most sims would do: I screamed like a banshee.

A firefighter entered but I couldn't stop screaming like a lunatic. I mean, it was....FIRE!!!!! Suddenly, it blazed higher.

I put my hands over my face whilst continuing to scream. The Firefighter spoke respectfully but forcefully, "Ma'am I need you to step back from the blaze and please stop screaming, I'm going to put it out." I did as I was told. I felt like a reprimanded child.

He did manage to put it out in minutes. If he hadn't of been there I don't know what would have happened to the kitchen. I turned to thank him but realized he was already walking out the front door to his firetruck. He probably thought I was the most annoying, dense woman ever. I'm an adult for sims' sake and there I was screaming like a three year old! I tried to put the incident behind me.

The next day I was hovering by the phone, waiting for my insurance company to call back. I picked up the phone and was shocked that it was the firefighter! And he wanted to take me out on a date. Incoherent, wailing me on a date. Naturally, I had to say yes.

End of Part One
